WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE OFFICE PARTY
Well, I never got the white elephant, but I did get to open several presents because I drew #2 and picked some gifts (Texas Hold ‘Em game, lava lamp) that others took. That meant I got to take something already opened or go back to the table. After three or four trips to the table, I finally ended up taking $20 of lottery tickets that netted me $9 cash and three more tickets. Our group has a rule that freezes a gift once it’s been stolen three times. Since the lotto tickets had already been pilfered twice, I knew if I took them I wouldn’t have to get up any more or risk being stuck with a year’s supply of bubble bath. It was a “safe” pick, ya know? I had more fun than expected with this game. I’m blessed to work with a good bunch of people.

I went to a friend’s house for a white elephant gift exchange and it was the real deal with funny weird gifts including already used candles, bottles of cheap perfume along with some slightly better gifts like snowman ornaments and new socks. It was a riot!
Back home in the states we used to do white elephant at my uncle’s place with my dad’s whole extended family, and it was alway hilarious. Look at that smile on your face! It looks like you had a good time.
Sorry for missing out on the Christmas blog post. I’ve been xanga absent lately
but hope to repair that soon.

I had never even heard of white elephant till Michael’s family. I think it is fun as long as people do somewhat useful gifts… some of the things Mike’s family did were just sad…
