I gave my notice at work yesterday. My last day will be 9/22, and I plan to fly to LA on Sun. 9/24, leaving Sat. for sendoff parties and such. It felt good to do that.
Driving home tonight was like driving through a ghost town. Odd after the roads were so crowded this a.m. with everyone trying to get gas. Every intersection was blocked by the spillover lines to the pumps. Last night, too. What a mess. Thankfully, it looks like Ernesto will not get back up to hurricane strength, though it is aiming at my condo. We’ve been getting steady rain for the last hour and expect up to 10 inches or more overnight. I’m sure there will be flood waters to deal with in the a.m. The only way I get out of work is if they issue a hurricane warning, which grows increasingly unlikely.
Time to hunt dinner. I will get creative again soon, but I’m going to visit family Sat.-Tues, so it will have to be in the next couple of days or into next week. You who are in my blogring, take heart–I haven’t forgotten you.
Wildcane out…

take care. hope it doesn’t flood there.
and thanks for the comment.
Florida is indeed a bad place if one doesn’t care for hurricanes. My friend lives in Tampa and thankfully they have not really gotten anything too crazy more than once or twice in the last three years.
Visiting family is nice. I am going to be in Indiana Sun-Tuesday to visit a friend I’ve known on the Internet the past 6 years. He is a lot like family to me. Like a brother.
Stay safe.
lucky that you’re upstairs! take care mr. wildcane!
Ernesto was incredibly wet in the West Indies – we all got flooded, even those of us whose islands weren’t even in his path.
